London’s Admirality Arch Could Turn into Luxe Hotel

London’s Admirality Arch, a regal-looking office structure that is located on London’s Mall may soon be transformed into a luxurious hotel property if one particular wealthy developer gets her way.

Tuesday’s Daily Mail reported that the building, which offers prime views of Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square, has recently hit the market for a hefty £75 million. It’s prime location in the middle of tourist central is a key component to the sale and if it’s turned into a hotel, it is reported that rooms inside the grand arch could go for as much as £5,000 per night.

Unfortunately for the interested developer, the task of transforming the historic spot into a high-end hotel may have some roadblocks, primarily due to security concerns. According to the Daily Mail, “Because of its sensitive position – it overlooks Whitehall and The Mall – bidders will have to show that they can prevent it from being infiltrated by terrorists.”

If the hotel concept doesn’t pan out, other suggested uses for the space include a restaurant, an art gallery, a museum or even high-end apartments.
