Hilary & Galen Weston Host Opening Night for Brazilian Artist Beatriz Milhazes in the Gallery at Windsor

News | December 9, 2011

An exhibition of works on paper by the highly acclaimed Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes opened in the Gallery at Windsor in Windsor, Florida on December 3 , 2011.  Curated by Iwona Blazwick, Director of London’s Whitechapel Gallery, the exhibit chronicles Milhazes collaboration with master printmaker Durham Press over a 15 year period.

An international array of guests attended the opening reception and gala Brazilian style dinner hosted by Hilary & Galen Weston in the Weston Guest House.   The vibrant and colorful décor echoed the rich palette in Milhazes art work and set the stage for lively conversation against a background of classical Brazilian guitar.

The collaboration with Whitechapel was made possible by the generous support of Windsor founders, Galen & Hilary Weston who developed Windsor, as a“Village by the Sea” on over 400 acres of lush barrier island between the Indian River and the Atlantic Ocean in Vero Beach.

The exhibition will be on view at the gallery through  April 2012.
