Every once in a while, something comes along that does more than catch our attention –!it changes our perceptions. When Koppel debuted in 1978, it was an absolute original. Unlike luxury watches whose features “shout” status, Henning Koppel’s vision challenged the status quo, carving away extras in pursuit of a watch’s most elegant essence. Now, a second revolution is taking place.
The female wrist will be seduced by four new models that all interprets the timeless and iconic design from Henning Koppel. The new Koppel watches for women offers two medium sizes models with chronograph or dual time as well as two versions of an elegant and ultra feminine two-hander.
The new models are offered with plain black or white dial with Koppel’s distinctive dot hour markers as well as or fascinating black or white mother-of-pearl dial with sparkling brilliant cut Top Wesselton diamonds. These feminine new models are fitted with a luxurious calf or alligator strap or a seductive satin strap that amplifies the elegance of the iconic design.
The new generation of the Koppel watch for ladies interprets a luxurious and modern interpretation of Koppel’s elegant design from 1978, wonderfully understated and strikingly elegant.
Henning Koppel (1918-1981) has been described as a distinguishing exponent of the development of Danish design since the mid-fifties. He was, like Georg Jensen himself, originally educated as a sculptor, but made his mark very strongly as a designer. His work is characteristic for its understated, organic fluid expression. Many of Henning Koppel’s iconic works are found in Georg Jensen’s Hollowware range with Fish Tray no. 1026 and Pitcher no. 992 recognised as design icons of the last 100 years.
