Get Elfed for the Holidays at Minus5 Ice Bar

If you want to get a head start on your holiday cards for next year, head over to Minus5 Ice Bar at the Monte Carlo and get elfed with the cool locale’s new holiday-themed cutouts. The ice sculptors there have been busy crafting elves that guests can poke their heads through for a memorable photo opportunity.

Or make it your New Year’s Eve headquarters. For $250 per person, you get two drinks, a souvenir Russian hat, a framed 5-inch by 7-inch photo and a fur coat to take home.

Inside Minus5, everything is made of ice from the walls and ceiling to the seats, sculptures and glasses. Each is made from 100 percent pure Canadian ice and the look changes every six to eight weeks. The cool spot gets its name from the temperature within, minus five degrees, or 23 degrees Fahrenheit. Don’t worry about freezing; everyone gets decked out in Eskimo-like ice gear which includes insulated jackets, gloves and boots. The menu consists of the best liquor to serve on ice, vodka, so expect to find a list filled with Russia’s favorite cocktails.
