BallyLove #2 Collection Revealed At Art Basel
Bally Reveals BALLYLove #2 Collection Bally unveiled its spectacular BallyLove #2 capsule collection during Art Basel Miami Beach 2011 on November 30hth with a magical launch party at the luxurious W South Beach Hotel.
BallyLove is a collection of pieces including shoes, accessories and ready-to-wear, designed by an internationally recognised artist from the field of contemporary art in partnership with Bally’s creative team. In-line with Bally’s philosophy of innovative design and craftsmanship excellence, this special capsule collection is powered by love and dedication to fashion, art and creativity.
In June 2011, Bally announced BallyLove Iconic Editions #2 in partnership with renowned Swiss-artist Olaf Breuning who is based in New York.
Inspired by vintage Bally posters Olaf Breuning began by creating a special inspiration image for Bally, which was presented for the first time in the Art Collectors Lounge at Art 42 Basel last June. The artist covered five models with white paint and fitted them with wigs, shoes, gloves and handbags all made of masking tape, which he then painted in Bally’s vibrant spring colours. Using a black background, the models were then photographed side-by-side in Breuning’s studio.
Bally’s Creative Directors Graeme Fidler and Michael Herz worked with Breuning to design the actual BallyLove #2 Collection. Their approach was to combine Bally’s iconic colours with Breuning’s signature humorous style to create the pieces which include a women’s ballerina, a men’s loafer, totes, handbags, a messenger bag, scarves and other accessories.
The final colourful collection was revealed for the first time during the exclusive Art Basel Miami Beach event. Attendees included Bally’s Creative Directors, Michael Herz and Graeme Fidler, the artist Olaf Breuning and Bally CEO, Berndt Hauptkorn. Additionally, Breuning unveiled a series of still lifes that are now on exhibition at Bally’s space in the Art Basel Miami Beach Art Collectors Lounge.
The capsule collection will be available in selected Bally flagship stores worldwide and online from April 2012, marked by a unique Olaf Breuning window installation.
