Broadway hit Wicked, in Singapore for the First Time!

BASE Entertainment and Marina Bay Sands are proud to announce the arrival of Wicked in Singapore!

Winner of 35 major awards including a Grammy and three Tony Awards including Best Musical, it’s the hottest musical on Broadway and now will be shown for the very first time in the South East Asia region.

Starting on December 7, 2011, the musical will run at the Marina Bay Sand’s Grand Theater for a strictly limited season! Experience the show that 28 million people are raving about!

Wicked reveals the untold story of two unlikely friends who grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch of the North. Elphaba is the misunderstood girl with emerald-green skin. Galinda, later Glinda, is the beautiful, ambitious and popular blonde. Told from their perspective, Wicked explores the tensions of their youth and the rivalries that mount after Dorothy’s arrival from Kansas.

The musical is based on the Gregory Maguire novel, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (1995), a parallel novel of the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz and L. Frank Baum’s classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900).
