Time for Formula One
o commemorate the end of the 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship, Hublot—the Official Watchmaker for Formula One—unveiled the F1 King Power Abu Dhabi watch.
Yes, we’ve also noticed that Hublot has been blowing up our blog lately, but we give credit where credit is due and the Swiss watchmaker has done it once again. To commemorate the end of the 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship, Hublot—the Official Watchmaker for Formula One—unveiled the F1 King Power Abu Dhabi watch.
The watch is inspired by Formula One racecars; it uses materials found in the vehicles to form a ceramic bezel with a circular-grained satin finish which sports multiple holes—similar to a Formula One brake disc. The strap is made from rubber and Nomex—the material developed by Dupon De Nemours that comprises F1 drivers’ suits. This timepiece will be produced in limited edition; a mere 250 pieces will be made available.
