Haute Fashion: Luxury Boot-maker Fiorentini + Baker Celebrates Ten Years
Bolognese luxury boot label, Fiorentini + Baker, rang in its 10th anniversary, with a rock concert and boisterous bash befitting of the brand’s doctrines. The splendid celebration unfolded at its new flagship store at 54 Mercer Street in SoHo. Designer Deborah Baker’s goal for the night— you ask? “To have a good time—and I want everyone else to have a good time.” Mission accomplished.
The merriment kicked off at 7pm with a full bar and DJ set—concluding late into the night. Even the masses who had to wait in line had something to smile about: a gelato cart on the house! Once inside the industrial boutique, guests breezed by Fiorentini + Baker’s new limited edition, 10th anniversary collection, before bolting to the prosecco and vodka.
By 9pm, jubilant style-lovers had crowded the back bar area for a set by rockers Tangiers Blues Band. After the live show, DJ James Young took control with a lively mix of old skool hip hop, revamped ‘80s, and some disco for good measure.
Fashion designer Anna Sui, who has collaborated with Fiorentini + Baker on several runway lines, attended the festivity, as did notorious rock ‘n’ roll photographer, Danny Clinch.
The exclusive Fiorentini + Baker 10th anniversary boots are available only at the label’s three boutiques in New York, London, and Bologna. Fiorentini + Baker has also launched Fiorentini + Baker Junior, a children’s line, which boasts irresistible miniature versions of the fashionable stivali.
British-born head-designer, Baker, moved to Bologna, Italy in 2001 to establish her label (also home of famed shoe-maker Bruno Magli). A decade later, the brand has grown immensely, with a strong celebrity and fashion-insider following, including stars: Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham, Tom Cruise, and Julianna Margulies.
