Haute Event: The 2011 Princess Grace Awards Gala
On Tuesday, November 1st, I had the honor of attending the Princess Grace Awards Gala at Cirpriani’s 42nd Street in New York City. Montblanc celebrated the Princess Grace Awards at the gala premiere of the Montblanc Collection Princesse Grace de Monaco in the presence of TSH The Prince and Princess of Monaco. The Awards ceremony included the presentation of 21 awards to emerging artists in theater, dance and film, as well as the Prince Rainier III Award, presented to Julie Andrews by Anne Hathaway. In between presentations guests dined on succulent lobster salad, filet mignon and more during the three course meal. I had pleasure of sharing my table with editors from Vogue, Womens Wear Daily and Olivia Palermo. Towards the end of the evening actress Anne Hathaway gave a moving introduction and presentation to the honoree of the evening; the legendary actress Dame Julie Andrews. Julie Andrews received a standing ovation from the star studed VIP crowd. It was truly an evening to remember.
Other notables in attendance included: Olivia Palermo (Fashion Icon), Olivia Munn (Actress), Petra Nemcova (Model), Selita Ebanks (Model), Natalie Cole (Grammy Winning Singer), David and Phillipe Blond (Designers), Julie Kent (Principal Dancer American Ballet Theater), Shenyang (Baritone Opera Singer and Montblanc Cultural Ambassador), Martha and Rufus Wainwright (Singers), Lynn Wyatt (Socialite and Philanthropist).
New York’s most fashionable dazzled at the gala. HSH Princess Charlene stunned on the red carpet in Montblanc Seven Stars Diamond earrings and Anne Hathaway looked gorgeous in Montblanc Riviera earrings and diamond rings, perfectly complementing her Valentino dress. Selita Ebanks wore the impressive Montblanc Riviera necklace to match her Marchesa gown.
