HAUTE EVENT: RYAN KWANTEN AND THE BON-TON STORES CELEBRATED THE LAUNCH OF NEW BRAND MAMBO AUSSIE STYLE
On Wednesday November 2nd, True Blood star Ryan Kwanten hosted an event of “art, skate, surf and humor”at Drive-In Studios to celebrate the iconic Australian surf and streetwear brand Mambo, which will be sold exclusively at The Bon-Ton Stores, Inc.
In addition to live models and the Spring 2012 collection presentation, guests were privy to live skaters, art battles and complimentary t-shirt screening along with a photo booth and true Australian inspired drinks and hors d’oeuvres. Kwanten introduced new band, the Ill Fits a group created with members of MGMT, Amazing Baby, and Foreign Islands, fronted by Miles Benjamin and Anthony Robinson while guests also enjoyed tunes from DJ Chris Bletzer of naag.com
Kwanten told Haute Living exclusively that his first pair of boardshorts as a kid were by Mambo so it was a natural fit for him to be named the U.S. brand ambassador for Mambo. Growing up in a small coastal town in Australia, he said his hautest luxury indulgence today is taking vacations.
The complete Mambo collection will be available at The Bon-Ton Stores for Spring 2012 and will include sportswear, swimwear, sunglasses, flip flops and a graphic t-shirt collection with exclusive designs by Kwanten for young women, young men and boys and girls. All stores will carry Mambo and it will also be available via e-commerce at www.bonton.com
