Haute Event: Celebrity Karaoke Kicks Off at Marquee on Mondays

News | November 21, 2011
Heath Burgett performs at Marquee Celebrity Karaoke.

Celebrity Karaoke kicked off Nov. 14 in the Library at Marquee Nightclub at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Amid the packed room, a plethora of talented singers took the stage, including a special appearance by a Michael Jackson look-and-sound alike.

Marquee’s Mike Diamond hosted the night and sang a few ditties as well. The best of the best were invited for encore performances to compete for a $500 gift card to Marquee, while those dubbed karaoke buzz kills were promptly gonged off the stage. The inaugural winner was none other than Heath Burgett of the acapella singing group Mosaic, who randomly stopped by and won the crowd over with his renditions of “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder, and in the finals, Boys II Men’s “End of the Road.” Burgett lead the room in a sing-a-long while throwing in some beat boxing at the end. Rumor has it Lady Gaga’s doppelganger will stop by to perform for week two tonight.

Celebrity Karaoke takes place each Monday in the Library at Marquee.
