Haute 100 Update: Michael Bay Brings Blockbuster Skills to ‘Need for Speed: The Run’

News | November 5, 2011

Electronic Arts (EA) has recruited Transformers director and visual thrillmaster Michael Bay for their newest video game, Need For Speed: The Run. This latest installment – the 18th, to be exact – of the well-loved racing game franchise had Bay directing a gripping advertisement for the game, which highlighted its intense thrill factor and engaging storyline.

Michael Bay, also known as “Mr. Call of Duty” for his work with the similarly popular video game franchise, is renowned for his blockbuster work. With the trailer at first only being accessible through the game’s Facebook page, Bay’s work drew approximately 4.3 million users to “liking” it on the social media site in order to view it.

The trailer is classic Bay – there are explosions, epic car crashes, an avalanche, helicopter action, high-speed chases, and exhilarating stunts. The game also has some additional celebrity power behind it with a cast including Sean Faris, Christina Henricks, and Sports Illustrated swimsuit models Irina Shayk and Christy Teigen.

The game is set to release in the United States on Tue., Nov. 15 and on Fri., Nov. 18 in Europe. To see the trailer, visit the game’s Facebook page or see it here (via youTube).
