Exclusive: Haute Living Meets with Louis XIII Cellar Master Pierrette Trichet

Louis XIII is a blend of one thousand two hundred eaux-de-vie that has been aged between forty and one hundred years, with magical qualities that unfold throughout the experience of enjoying a glass of the prestigious cognac. As the first woman to serve as Cellar Master for any cognac producer, Pierrette Trichet is the fourth and current Cellar Master for Louis XIII.

During her visit to Miami, I had the special opportunity to meet Madame Trichet and experience the world of Louis XIII through her eyes and palate. Louis XIII is a cognac of the senses, first visually through the presence of the magnificent decanter crafted by Baccarat, then on to the smell that begins the manifestation of flavors, and finally the taste that unravels with notes of fig, vanilla and mushroom.

My meeting with Pierrette Trichet in Miami was especially fitting, as the original cellar master for Louis XIII, Andre Renaud, is the great grandfather to Laure Heriard-Dubreuil. Laure is the founder of The Webster, an exclusive concept store found only in Miami. Laure’s grandfather, Andre Heriard-Dubreuil, became chairman of the board of Remy Martin subsequent to Renaud’s retirement. Today, her aunt Dominique Heriard-Dubreuil is Chairman of Remy Martin worldwide.
