Yoshitomo Nara, one of Japan’s most notable Neo Pop artists, will be showing his new body of work at Pace Gallery in New York City. Nara is known for paintings that depict cartoon like images of children and animals, sometimes with a dark twist. His paintings blend both Eastern and Western aesthetics and the imagery often comments on popular culture and the social ideals that inform mass consumerism.

Nara is an established artist who has had over 40 solo exhibitions at some of the most prestigious venues in the world; needless to say, Pace Gallery is honored to join the list. The show isn’t taking place for some time however – the exhibit is scheduled for debut in 2013. So all you art enthusiasts and collectors out there, pay close attention to the HL website for more information and details regarding this important cultural event.
