Haute Event: Bottega Venetta Re-Opening
Venue: Bottega Venetta, 124 Geary Street
Photographer: Drew Altizer
Event Date: 10.12.2011
A house renown for it intricate craftsmanship of leather goods, Bottega Veneta reopened its San Francisco store on October 13, 2011 with a fashionable crowd in attendance and a proper interior to showcase its artisan luxury items. Sloan Barrett, Carol Bonnie and Alison Pincus hosted the event in support of the California Pacific Medical Center.
From the soaring entryway, one entered and immediately gazed upon the signature woven leather accessories displayed in jewel-box like cubbies. Each of the showcases had thoughtful retractable mats so that when displaying an accessory, it would rest on not the glass but a piece of soft suede. The beautiful deconstructed lace, grosgrain ribbon and silk dresses of Fall/Winter 2011 were draped not only on the hangers but on many of the chic attendees. Fear not, only white wine and Prosecco were served that night to keep the clothing immaculate. Tasty h’or dovers like caviar in cream in a miniature potato skin or seared duck breast on a forbidden rice cake made their rounds. Even though it was mostly a fete to celebrate the sleek new interior design and space, many clients just couldn’t help themselves to purchasing some more Bottega items that night and for a good cause. In the spirit of charity, Bottega Venetta of San Francisco will donate 10% of all sales from October 12 through Octover 19th to the CMPC Foundation’s Wishes for Wellness. Not that there needs to be any additional reason to purchase one of those iconic woven clutches.
A very special pair of white boucle, anthracite crystal heels were spot lit in the shoe collection and captured the spirit of the night: glittering, well-heeled and festive.
