Haute 100 Update: Steve Jobs Still Expected to Appear at Tomorrow’s iPhone 5 Presentation

News | October 3, 2011

Despite the fact that Steve Jobs is no longer Apple’s CEO, he is still expected to appear at the company’s iPhone 5 event tomorrow, Oct. 4, alongside current Chief Executive Tim Cook.

Jobs, whose work with Apple achieved him status as a tech legend, resigned as Apple’s CEO in August in the face of continued health problems. He has been the face of Apple whenever introducing new products, including a surprise appearance in March, when he unveiled the iPad 2 even though he was on medical leave.

Jobs remains an employee with the company on its board of directors. While reports have indicated that current CEO Cook will preside over the keynote and introduce the highly anticipated next-generation iPhone, Jobs is still expected to appear – after all, the only iPhone that wasn’t introduced by Jobs was 2009’s iPhone 3GS.
