Cirque du Soleil Iris To Premiere At Kodak Theater

Cirque du Soleil’s ode to movie making, Iris is set to premiere at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. Kodak, which is best known for hosting the Oscar’s each year, has long been an aging memmorial to the classical days of glamour; a venue far too small for most large and attractive shows, its owners have been looking for a new way to revamp it and bring it back into the modern age.

“If we had come with a typical Cirque du Soleil show,”says Daniel Lamarre, Chief executive for Cirque du Soleil, “I don’t know how long we would have lasted. But having the Hollywood theme makes it different.” The show is currently planning to run in Los Angeles for the next ten years and includes twenty video projectors, twelve performers and 200 different costumes for the performers.
