Haute Event: Levi’s® Hosts Exclusive Cocktails and Creations Event
Photographer: Drew Altizer
On August 30, The Levi Strauss & Co. Global Headquarters hosted the first media event in their new space. The evening featured canopes, cocktails, custom fittings, and a behind-the-scenes look at how the vintage archives inspired the collections.
Designers from Levi’s, Dockers, Signature and Denizen were on hand to walk guests through fall collections and perform custom fittings. At the end of the evening, guests were sent home with a key piece of his or her choosing.
Across the atrium, guests were then treated to a tour of the Levi’s Vault (not to be missed!), which houses 150 years worth of vintage apparel and ephemera. Archivist Lynn Downey was on hand to answer questions and showcase the world’s oldest pair of 501® jeans, circa 1879 (worth over $150,000!). The Vault also houses a variety of famous Levis denim jackets designed for celebrities such as Elton John, Queen Latifah, Yves St. Laurent, Elizabeth Taylor and others.
The smart and stylish store is a wonder to walk through. The store showcases signage about various types of denim, and even the dressing room has the appearance of an inviting and rustic house. As touted on the Levi Strauss & Co. Blog, “The store was actually built inside our lobby! And the space is a true expression of our iconic brands. Our jeans, shirts and khakis rest on solid pine cabinetry and fixtures, giving the store a simple, yet elevated aesthetic.”
The plaza Store opened quietly at the end of January. If you’re visiting — or living in — San Francisco, this brand new store is worth checking out.

Store Hours are M-F 9am – 6pm. Sat-Sun 12pm – 5pm
