El Cantara Deli spices up Westfield Stratford City

News | September 25, 2011

El Cantara – the Soho favourite famed for its sumptuous Spanish and Moroccan cuisine – has opened an exciting new deli and restaurant within Westfield Stratford City, Europe’s largest shopping centre.

El Cantara’s east London outpost showcases the finest foods and products from Southern Spain and Northern Morocco. The delicatessen – with its floating island where spices can be ground to order and a comprehensive selection of fresh herbs, spices and olives are available to purchase – takes centre stage, but the dining element also elates. Expect a small breakfast bar and an island serving a constantly evolving selection of mouth watering Moroccan and Spanish dishes, presided over by co-owner and chef patron Hamza Harrak.

Customers can also feed their faces: El Cantara stocks a range of luxe cosmetics including eucalyptus black soap plus face creams and body balms, made with rare Argan oil as well as an array of indigenous cooking equipment and tableware including terracotta tapas plates, handcrafted tagines and paella pans.

All told, El Cantara Deli looks set to be a great spot to refuel when trawling the avenues and aisles of Europe’s largest shopping centre. After all, life is too short too exist solely on sandwiches, when shopping.
