Bass Museum of Art to Host Opening Reception for New Exhibition September 9

The Bass Museum of Art is excited to host an Opening Reception for its newest exhibition, Vanishing Points: Paint and Paintings From The Debra and Dennis Scholl Collection this Friday, September 9.

The night begins with a private viewing for members only from 7-8 pm. Immediately following, there will be a cocktail reception open to the public. Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails courtesy of EDEN South Beach, Boru Vodka, Tierras Tequila and wine by Betts & Scholl. DJ Le Commandant will provide the soundtrack.

Vanishing Points features 43 works by 27 contemporary international artists. The exhibition highlights three viewpoints: Sweeping Horizontality and Aerial Views, The Painterly without Paintings and Impossible Task.

VIP guests expected to attend include art collectors Debra and Dennis Scholl; Bass Museum of Art Board Members George Lindemann, Alan Randolph, Sarah Harrelson, Christina Getty-Maercks and Cricket Taplin; and local artists currently exhibiting at the museum such as Adler Guerrier, Hernan Bas, Jose Bedia, Jacin Giordano and Timothy Buwalda.

The Opening Reception is complimentary for members and Bass Pass holders, while admission is $10 for non-members.

Vanishing Points: Paint and Paintings From The Debra and Dennis Scholl Collection will run until Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011. For more information, please visit www.bassmuseum.org.
