American Federation of Arts 2011 Gala & Cultural Leadership Awards
The American Federation of Arts, AFA, is scheduled to hold their 2011 Gala and Cultural Leadership Awards on Wednesday October 26th at the Metropolitan Club in Manhattan. The festivities will include plenty of cocktails, a formal dinner, and a raffle of a print by April Gornik and a painting by Richard Bell. 200 guests are expected to attend the invent including some of the biggest names on the art scene such as William M. Griswold and Anthony Hirschel.
Special guests this year are performance artist Marina Abramovic and National Gallery of Art Director Earl A. Powell, both of whom are being honored by the AFA. Both of these art world darlings will be introduced at the awards ceremony by MoMA PS1 Director Klaus Biesenbach and former Metropolitan Museum of Art Director Philippe de Montebello.
