Orbital Technologies slates Galactic Hotel for 2016
The lap of luxury finds a new home in 2016 as Russian company Orbital Technologies plans to host a four-cabin hotel 217 miles from earth. The cabins will be suitable for up to seven galactic guests and will cater to the comforts of weightlessness by allowing patrons to sleep both vertically or horizontally. The hotel will also feature air tight showers to prevent unwanted water leakage and pre-prepared cuisine transported via rocket to be reheated by microwave oven.
Orbital Technologies Chief Executive Sergei Kostenko says “the hotel will be aimed at wealthy individuals and people working for private companies who want to do research in space.”
No budget is the best budget for a 5-day stay at the galactic hotel. Flight and nightly rates are upwards from 900 grand.
