MTV Video Music Awards: Who Was Where After The Show
Once the VMAs came to a close, the real party began at venues such as The Colony, The Roosevelt Hotel, Harvard & Stone, The W hotel, and Boulevard 3 where Lil Wayne celebrated the release of his album, The Carter IV. Before the parties though, starlets did their third, fourth or fifth wardrobe change. The VMAs is one of the most momentous evenings for young stars in the music biz. Celebrating her first VMA win, Katy Perry and husband Russell Brand headed to the House Of Hype for Esquire’s post-show party.
The VMA after party at the Colony is one of the most popular parties to attend. Some of the stars that attended the festivities here include Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale. For an even more exclusive fete, All Saints and Harvard & Stone joined forces in creating a post award show party for an elite list of stars. Here, Patrick Carney of The Black Keys spun an exclusive vinyl record set, before Foster The People took to the tables. Another note worthy party was at the W hotel. The lobby was flooded with a crowd of Los Angeles hipsters and music buffs, who attended the party for an exclusive performance from Michael Buble, as well as local bands, who all paid homage to Michael Jackson.
Finally, the last artist to take the stage at the VMAs was none other than Lil Wayne, who began with a serene version of his song “How To Love,” before jumping to the other side of the spectrum with an enraged performance, in true Wayne form. Following the VMAs, he celebrated the release of his The Carter IV album with friends Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Ciara.
