Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Design a $34,000 Backpack for The Row
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have been style icons for years, sending fashionistas into a frenzy for their contemporary line, Elizabeth and James. Their next move? The sisters stepped it up for a more high-end set by expanding their empire and creating The Row, a luxury apparel and accessories brand .
Naturally, their opulent clientele needs accessories to go with their outfits, so this fall the dinamic duo will be launching their handbag collection under The Row label.
The Olsen’s collection of luxe handbags focuses on keeping the shapes classic and minimalist – the anti-“It Bag”. Materials include calfskin, lambskin, alligator, ostrich and lizard with Fall colors ranging from neutrals (caramels, tans, greys, blacks) to blue and blush.
With back-to-school just weeks away, what better way to start off the season than with a new $34,000 alligator backpack. Chic for adults and the most priviliged child, I can’t help but wonder what my parents would have said if I chose this one back in the day… Having always been too haute for high school, they may not have been very surprised.
