Haute 100 Update: Thomas Keller to Open ‘The French Laundry at Harrods’ Pop-Up in London

News | August 1, 2011

Hey, foodies… need an excuse to jet on over to London? The rumors started earlier this year, but it has finally been confirmed that Haute 100 San Francisco member and James Beard Award-winning chef and restaurateur Thomas Keller will be opening a pop-up installment of his flagship The French Laundry restaurant in London’s iconic Harrods department store.

On October 1 this year, Keller and his culinary A-team will be opening up The French Laundry at Harrods for 10 days. Located in The Georgian, Harrods’ fourth floor restaurant, it will be a replica of the original Yountville spot. Keller wants it right down to the details, so he will be flying in fixtures, fittings, dinnerware, and even over a dozen of his French Laundry staff members.

The pop-up will be serving a sumptuous nine-course meal that will include some mouthwatering French Laundry signature dishes in addition to some new projects made especially for the special location for £250, or approximately $411. And, although Keller will be running the show in London for this time, the French Laundry in Yountville will remain open.
