Haute 100 Update: Brad Pitt’s New Zombie Flick ‘World War Z’ Gets Release Date [ON-SET PHOTOS]

The new Brad Pitt film, World War Z, has gotten an official release date of December 21, 2012. The announcement was made by Paramount on Tuesday, August 9, and already, the anticipation is building.

Pitt stars in and is producing the zombie thriller, directed by Marc Forster and based on the best-selling novel World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks. Pitt plays Gerry Lane, a United Nations employee with machismo to spare, who travels the globe in an effort to compile a report on a zombie pandemic that is destroying humanity.

The movie, with script by State of Play’s Matthew Michael Carnahan, completed its initial photography last month in Malta, and will also be shooting in Scotland and Hungary.
