Richard Phillips Exhibit at Glenn Horowitz Bookseller in East Hampton

News | July 11, 2011

John McWhinnie @ Glenn Horowitz Bookseller in East Hampton will host a unique exhibition of works by Richard Phillips, whose imagery, perhaps more so than any other contemporary painter of his kind, has achieved a level of pop recognition outside of the art world with fashion, media and film collaborations, including Gossip Girl, Jimmy Choo, MAC Cosmetics, Mont Blanc, Colette, USM Furniture, The Art Production Fund, Exhibition A and Visionaire, among many others.

(Previously this year, Phillips exhibited his ‘Most Wanted’ series at White Cube in London, featuring ten larger than life celebrity portraits set against red carpet step-and-repeat backdrops branded by major fashion labels, and created two short films, Lindsay Lohan and Sasha Grey.)

“Point of Purchase” is the first full-scale exhibition of the artist’s collaborative projects with major commercial brands and opens on Saturday, July 16, from 6 to 8 PM, and is up through August 8
