Haute Spot: Amika at The Monarch Hotel
Amika is the latest restaurant and lounge to be exported from London where it’s become a hot spot since 2007. Located in a discreet corner of The Monarch Hotel this new Italian joint serves authentic and modern dishes as well as inviting cocktails.
The menu is divided into traditional and modern renditions of classic Italian dishes. To try is the lobster salad; the Angus filet steak served with edible 24 carat gold leaf and truffle mashed potato; and without a doubt a delicate home-made tiramisu.
After your meal make a move onto the dance floor and groove away to live DJ beats. The DJ gets going after 10pm so you can show off your moves to club tracks and catchy 80s beats. Sundays is 1980s sounds while Tuesdays is Amika Amore whereby females need to wear red to obtain entrance and free cocktails between 11pm and 1am. Wednesdays is is classic tunes for a more mature crowd.
