Haute 100 Update: Jay-Z and Kanye West Join as ‘The Throne’, Announce Album Release Date and North American Tour
Haute 100 New York member Jay-Z and fellow hip hop superstar Kanye West – the duo now together known as ‘The Throne’ – are gearing up to release their joint album, Watch the Throne on August 8. It was previously announced that the album would drop on August 1, but has now been determined to hit iTunes on the August 8, with a physical release in stores on August 12.
The upcoming album has gained much attention as we witness one of the most highly anticipated – and high profile – collaborations in music. In addition to the powerhouse of The Throne’s members, the album is also said to include two appearances by burgeoning hip hop artist Frank Ocean and one from the fellow Haute 100 New York member, and Jay-Z’s wife, Beyoncé.
To add to the excitement music fans have experienced while merely waiting for the the album alone, the duo has also announced that the album will coincide with a North American tour, slated to start in Detroit on September 22. Tickets for the tour will also be available on August 8.
