Haute Event: Outstanding Women in Broward County

The days of women being meek and submissive have faded into the distance, especially with such events as the third Annual 100 Outstanding Women of Broward County. TThe Boys & Girls Club of Broward County along with the Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center hosted this gala at The Signature Grand in Davie, Florida. The evening showcased local women in leadership roles through business, community, or philanthropy.

The packed house of more than 1,200 guests enjoyed a cocktail hour and silent auction while honorees were filmed by several local television stations and magazine publications. Rounding off the evening were some adorable tikes from the respective clubs selling raffle tickets.

Guests enjoyed a delectable three-course meal while emcee Julia Yarbough, respected journalist and news anchor, told heartfelt and entertaining stories from her blog Highway to Husband, which depicts her fun-filled road-trip blog on her dating adventures.

Some amazing prizes auctioned off throughout the evening consisted of a week in Cabo, a trip for four to the Waldorf Astoria New York, your very own Vegas Vacation, a chance to be a kid again while staying at a tree-top home, tropical Florida getaways, a choice of a “Sky’s the Limit” Bluegreen destination in the United States.  South Florida native designer Rene Ruiz generously donated a talk of the town $10,000 towards an item of their liking.

The proceeds of this event benefitted the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County as well as Susan B. Anthony Recovery. For more information on the Boys & Girls Club of Broward County or Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center, check out their links.
