The San Francisco Symphony Celebrates 100th Anniversary with ‘An Evening with Carolina Herrera’

On Wednesday, April 20, for the first time in nearly 30 years, Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco hosted a glamorous evening that brought together the best of high fashion and the passion of music with “An Evening with Carolina Herrera” – a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the San Francisco Symphony featuring an exclusive runway show by internationally acclaimed fashion designer Carolina Herrera.

The event, which was presented in partnership with Neiman Marcus, was an exceptional evening that included a pre-show reception with wine and hors d’oeuvres, of which Herrera was an honored attendee, followed by a moving performance by San Francisco Symphony Principal Trumpet Mark J. Inouye & The Unit, and a post-show dinner and live auction, which took place on the first tier overlooking City Hall.

The elegant evening was a great way to honor the San Francisco Symphony’s upcoming Centennial Season while offering guests, many of which attended wearing Herrera’s designs, an exclusive showcasing of Herrera’s Fall 2011 clothing line. Event chair Patricia FerrinLoucks said of the extraordinary event, “The San Francisco League of the San Francisco Symphony is thrilled to partner with Carolina Herrera and Neiman Marcus in offering fashion- and music-lovers from the Bay Area an extraordinary experience at Davies Symphony Hall.” Additionally, all proceeds from the event went towards supporting the Symphony’s acclaimed music education programs, which provide music education to more than 75,000 Bay Area children annually.
