Haute Style: Sarah Siegel-Magness of SoLow
If your parents are Mo and Peggy Siegel – who founded health food giant Celestial Seasonings Tea- what choice do you have than to start your own company, make tons of money and become a major player in business?
That’s the Reader’s Digest version of Sarah Siegel-Magness’ life so far. Ambitious at an early age, at 27 she founded the wildly successful SoLow lifestyle collection of sassy sportswear, which counts Kirsten Dunst, Lucy Liu, and Gwen Stefani as fans.
Sarah helped popularize the fold-over yoga pant but then expanded into cozy leggings, casually cool fold-over pants (some with “tattoos”), skirts, little day dresses, fitted tanks, comfy hoodies, swimsuits, and accessories.
How she got into sportswear is a story unto itself. When low-rise pants became popular, Sarah couldn’t find panties that were low enough so realizing a business opportunity, the entrepreneur created her own line of “low-rise” panties, which flew off the shelves. Style emergency solved.
Panties soon expanded into the SoLow line, which, like most successful businesses, sells more than clothes; she sells a fun and fashionable lifestyle image. Not only does she run her business but Ms Sarah Siegel-Magness also finds time for humanitarian efforts as a member of YEO, the Young Entrepreneur’s Organization, a global non-profit educational organization for business owners under 40. Her humanitarian and charity efforts include Save Venice, New Yorkers for Children and the Millennium Promise, just to name a few.
And you’re in luck – there’s a huge sale going on right now online. Pick up some of those clothes you can live in, from the gym to Happy Hour.
