Haute Event: The 16th Annual Night for Life Gala

News | May 9, 2011

This month’s 16th Annual Night for Life Gala successfully raised more than $450,000 to benefit the Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS.

On Saturday, May 7, The Phoenician hosted more than 500 members of the Valley community for the “True Colors”-themed gala, which included a cocktail reception and a silent auction featuring vacation giveaways, signed sports and entertainment memorabilia, artwork and more. After dinner, Tony and Grammy Award winner Jennifer Holliday performed R&B hits, including hits from the Broadway musical “Dreamgirls,” and DJ Justin Dawson took to the turntables, spinning dance-worthy beats for the after-party.

Co-chairs were Berkley Vallone and Scott Burdick, and emcees were Chris Parker and Amy Van Dyken from The Peak.

The event’s goal? To raise funds that will help the Southwest Center provide prevention, research and wellness support to Arizona residents infected with HIV/AIDS. Mission: accomplished.
