Haute Event: Penelope Cruz and Johnny Depp Make Pre-Cannes Stop in Moscow for Pirates Premiere
Just a day before hitting Cannes Film Festival, celebrated Hollywood stars Penelope Cruz and Johnny Depp flew to Russia. First they popped up at the sumptuous Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Moscow at a photo call before the Russian premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The duo are traveling the globe to promote the latest installment of the franchise.

For a photo call and press conference Spanish Beauty Penelope Cruz wore L’wren Scott while Johhny Depp, mixed and matched boho chic pieces, style which is so typical of him.

Both stars looked to be having a great time on the roof of the Ritz hotel while being interviewed by Russian journalists. It has to be said that actors been inundated with questions as the interest to the latest Pirates of the Caribbean film is significantly huge, and predictably the movie will be enormously successful here.
During the interview, Penelope confessed that the hardest thing about making the movie was keeping her composure around Depp: “It was a challenge to keep a straight face sometimes with Johnny in some of the more dramatic scenes. He would provoke me and always make me laugh. It was harder than the sword fights, for sure.”
Russia has evolved into an increasingly important pit stop for studios as they premiere tentpoles around the world. Hollywood films accounted for 83% of Russia’s total box office last year, with Disney enjoying huge success with “Alice in Wonderland” and “Tangled”, the Variety reports
