Chef Don Pintanoba to Open New Restaurant in Union Square Park

According to a reliable source, Parks has chosen Don Pintabona, former Tribeca Grill, Dani and Valentino’s on the Green chef, of O-V Hospitality Group LLC to take over the pavilion in Union Square Park that used to be the home of Luna Café.  Expect to see a wine bar, large communal table and out-door on the north plaza at this new hot spot. Officials say that the have an investment of $1.1 million to build the City Farm Café, the new restaurant which will open in Spring 2012.

New York City has spent $20 million restoring the north and west plazas near the old Luna and now they include a brand new 15,000-square foot playground, new public restrooms, enhanced landscaping and bunch more tress. Chef Pintabona is famous for the “Operation Chef’s With Spirit” campaign he led to produce 600,000 hot meals for relief workers at Ground Zero back in 2001.
