Where to Watch the Royal Wedding in Style in Atlanta

Just because your invitation to this Friday’s royal nuptials got lost in the mail does not resign you to watching the ceremony at home in your bathrobe. Put on your best hat and watch Prince William and Kate Middleton tie the knot at Piedmont Park overlooking the new Legacy Fountain.

Attendees will be treated to a sunrise viewing party under the grand tent at The Promenade at Piedmont Park, complete with cocktails, appetizers and displays by some of Atlanta’s top wedding and event vendors. Guests will also enjoy hourly raffles as they take in the view of the most exciting new venue in Atlanta. With tickets set at $30 and the captivating sunrise nuptials beginning at 6 a.m., Piedmont Park is the place to enjoy the most anticipated wedding of the year in a beautiful outdoor setting. For tickets and more information go to www.piedmontpark.org.

If viewing the wedding at Piedmont Park is not high on your to do list, The W Atlanta Buckhead will be holding a free viewing party at 6 a.m. hosted by B98’s “Vikki and Kelly Morning Show.” Guests will toast to the royal couple as they watch the ceremony on big screen TVs and take photos with the hotel’s “royal guard.” And for those of you who can’t make the early morning trek from your home to The W, royal wedding packages are available offering accommodations the night before, two cocktails, teas service for two, and access to Thursday night’s Whiskey Blue Hen & Stag Night Party. Celebrate the couple’s last single night and beat them to the alter, with the help of concierge-minister David-Michael Searcy. Packages start at $169. For more information go to www.watlantabuckhead.com.

After the wedding continue your celebration into the night at the Royal Wedding Reception, hosted by the British Consulate-General in Atlanta. This black tie event, held at the Crowne Plaza Ravinia hotel, offers you the opportunity to rub elbows with movers and shakers and discuss the events of the day with actual Brits, complete with real British accents. Dance, dine and watch video highlights of the morning’s ceremony while raising money for the Starlight Children Foundation at our city’s own royal reception. The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. and lasts until 11:30 p.m. with individual tickets starting at $200 and tables starting at $2,500. For more information go to www.ukinusa.fco.gov.uk.

Once you’ve gotten your fill of Prince William and Kate Middleton and danced the night away with the British Consul-General, be sure to hang on to your glass slippers as you race home before your coach turns back into a pumpkin and you remember that Prince Harry is still single.
