Tiffany & Co. Designs San Francisco Giants World Series Ring
“Knocking it out of the park” in baseball is an expression players hold pride in; and now the San Francisco Giants can hold their heads even higher after being awarded with the very first MLB championship ring designed by luxury jewelry company, Tiffany & Co.
On April 9 2011, at a crowded AT&T Park ceremony, the San Francisco Giants, along with their coaches, trainers, and contributors responsible for the Giant’s 2010 World Series win, were presented with the recently revamped championship rings designed by Tiffany & Co. The ring joins the ranks of the ‘real deal’ luxury designed rings often displayed with pride on the hands of NBA and NFL players. Tiffany & Co has been enlisted in the past by professional sports leagues world for their exceptional level of quality and craftsmanship, designed the rings to symbolize the winning athletes achievements, dedication, and victory in their sport.
The new rings were inspired by the original 1933 MLB World Series ring, but thanks to Tiffany’s, combines its historic design with a modern twist. The ring is studded with 77 sparkling diamonds set in 18 karats of white gold with yellow gold accents. The face of the ring proudly sports a diamond encrusted “SF” interlocking logo and while one side of the ring displays a tribute to the iconic Golden Gate bridge, the other side is engraved with the individual recipients name over the World Series trophy. Above the trophy, a single delicate orange spessartite glimmers, representing the San Francisco championship win.
Along with the rings presented to the San Francisco Giants, Tiffany & Co has created an extra ring which will be auctioned off at the Giant’s World Series Ring Raffle in July, 2011. The highest bidder will be able to share a piece of history with the SF Giants with their own personalized World Series ring, while aiding the team with their committed efforts off the field in contributing to their beloved Giants Community Fund.
The San Francisco Giants and future World Series winners can now see their blood, sweat and tears pay off… this time in the form of diamonds and gold!
