Haute Event: Quintessentially Foundation and Mizuho Securities raise over HKD$650,000 for Japan

Quintessentially Foundation’s evening soirée at Kee Club in Hong Kong on April 6 raised HKD $650,000 in just three hours for the reconstruction efforts in Japan with the help of title sponsor Mizuho Securities Asia.

The evening showcased works from photographer Douglas Kirkland, and renowned Japanese sculptor Hirotoshi Sawada, which were then sold via a live and silent auction. Other auction prizes included hotel stays in Bali and France, personal styling services by Quintessentially and Tiffany’s crystal ware.

Guests were entertained by a moving video installation of the current situation in Japan which was followed by an emotional performance of Ryuichi Sakamoto’s ‘Forbidden Colours’ by Diana d’Arenberg. The evening was bought to a close with the upbeat sounds of DJ Flipside.

“It is our pleasure to join hands with more than 40 supporting partners and organise this event within two weeks. We appreciate their generous and warm hearted support of this important cause and their great assistance helping our Asia Pacific neighbours,” said Emma Sherrard, Quintessentially’s Asia-Pacific Chief Executive Officer.
