Haute Celebration: Mother’s Day at the Island Hotel

Brunch might be an obvious choice when it comes to Mother’s Day. Been there, done that, right? You may have had a brunch to celebrate mom’s special day, but you definitely haven’t done it like this. The Island Hotel is blending brunch with a BBQ — you read that right — for a Mother’s Day that she won’t soon forget.

This year, the Island Hotel invites the entire family to an alfresco dining experience at Palm Terrace. Forget boring brunch, they’ve got a build your own scramble station as well as hot and cold options that’ll be sure to satisfy everyone. The menu will feature everything from green vegetable gazpacho, house-smoked salmon, a Caesar salad fondue and more. And remember that barbecue? Head to the grill and you’ll be able to enjoy offerings like slow braised prime short ribs, duck and Angus beef sliders, grilled chicken kabobs and ancho lime sword fish. No time for brunch? Sleeping in (that’s a treat few moms get to indulge in)? The Island Hotel will also be offering dinner with a special prix-fixe menu.

In addition to having a memorable meal, the hotel’s spa will be offering a special Love Me Pedicure Treatment (available through May 31). The mother-daughter treat includes an ice cream bath for feet followed by a vanilla purity sherbet shower and vanilla purity body icing. Truly decadent, it’s a one-of-a-kind dessert experience you won’t get anywhere else.
