One of the biggest events of the season – and the century – Dallas realtor royalty Ebby Halliday celebrated her 100th birthday with a roast and toast at the Hilton Anatole Wednesday evening, February 23rd. The event raised $640,000 for the Foundation Fighting Blindness-funded research to help find treatments and cures for blindness caused by retinal diseases.

There were more than 500 people in attendance, including The Ebby Halliday Centennial All Male Review Performers: Ross Perot; Denny Carreker; Kenneth H. Cooper, M.D.; Jim Keyes; Bill Melton; Kern Wildenthal, M.D., Ph.D.; Dan Patterson and The Honorable Pete Sessions. Among the toasters at the event were Mary Frances Burleson, The Honorable Tom Leppert, Roger Staubach, Betty Turner, T. Boone Pickens, Gene Jones and Dick Gaylord.

Roger Staubach escorted Ebby into the ballroom at the beginning of the event. Tony Orlando sang a new patriotic song that he had never before performed. Ebby joined in singing lyrics to “Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree” into the microphone.
