Dinner and a Show: Jimmy Hopper at the Island Hotel
While you’re enjoying restaurant week or booking your tickets to see Rock of Ages at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, why not combine the joys of dinner and music with the old school idea of a dinner show? Luckily, the Island Hotel’s Palm Terrace Restaurant is debuting a special duo of delights: a prix fixe dinner and the musical stylings of Jimmy Hopper every Friday night.
Every Friday, musician Jimmy Hopper and his bandmates will perform a special “Up Close and Personal” unplugged set while guests have the chance to savor a three-course dinner prepared by Executive Chef Bill Bracken. Dinner seatings are at 6:30 p.m. and feature champagne, a seafood tower appetizer, and the choice of roasted prime rib, red fish or roasted breast of chicken for an entree. After a dessert by the hotel’s pastry chef Michael Owens, the show starts at 8:00 p.m. Dinner packages are $65, which include the three-course meal and the show.
If your Fridays are booked, don’t fret. Every Saturday night, Hopper and his band will perform from 8:45 p.m. to closing. Try the Friday dinner though, since the hotel will be hosting Jimmy Hopper for a while. You won’t want to miss it.
The Island Hotel is located at 690 Newport Center Dr., at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. For more information on the Friday Night Shows at Palm Terrace, call the restaurant directly at 949.760.4920 or visit the hotel’s official web site at www.theislandhotel.com.
