Burnt by the Sumptuousness Exhibition Opens in Lumiere Brothers Art-centre
Burnt by the Sumptuousness exhibition will be showcased in Moscow through March 13 in Lumiere Brothers Art-centre. The project exhibits twenty photographic canvases and four video installations; all captures by famous Russian fashion photographer Danil Golovkin.
In two dozen of photographs, Golovkin creates his own grotesque world, playing with Dolce Vita symbols and clichés. Dynamic in composition and color, the photographs are very stylish, although provocative till some extend.
Millennium Park village, located in Moscow region, became a perfect background for the photoshoot. The village’s varied landscapes and mansions architectural design emphasised photographer’s surreal ideas.
Art project Burnt by the Sumptuousness is the result of collaboration between Russian company Villagio Estate and the photographer. Danil Golovkin is one of the most talented and well-known Russian fashion photographers, who have previously taken pictures of many prominent people including Naomi Campbell and Mikhail Gorbachev. His works regularly appear on the pages of glossy magazines like Vogue, ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar and Snob.
Burnt by the Sumptuousness project continues the tradition of philanthropy in contemporary art. On the opening day some of the showcased works were auctioned. All the funds raised were donated to PH Kommersant Russian Aid Fund. This charitable fund for more then 14 years has been supporting children who need expensive surgeries.
Over two hundred of guests attended the opening of the exhibition and the auction.
