The Creatives Project Presents Inaugural Fundraiser “JUNG at HeART”

On Feb. 4, The Creatives Project will hold its inaugural fundraiser for its outreach initiative, The Creative Community Housing Project (CCHP). CCHP is a non-profit organization that provides housing and financial support to creatives. Additionally, the project encourages creativity and growth through the arts and arts education while pioneering community and social responsibility. The fundraiser will be the first of many to support the goals of CCHP. Having originated as a photo-documentary project in Atlanta, The Creatives Project continues to use its documentary series to reach the creative community, introduce artists to new audiences, support the community through arts-based outreach, and inform the public about CCHP.

The fundraiser, called “JUNG at HeART” (a play on the phrase “young at heart”), features the collaboration of highly regarded artists Fahamu Pecou and Bethany Marchman as photographed by Neda Abghari. Though each has created their own brand through their craft, the exhibition is the first collaborative effort by these three inventive creative minds. Through this union, they represent the fusion of Atlanta’s art community and embody the fact that, even through diversity, groups can come together to expand both boundaries and minds.

Before the main event, for only a $50 contribution, guests can attend the “JUNG at HeART” VIP reception during which guests can enjoy hors d’oeuvres, complimentary cocktails, an intimate artist lecture, and a signed, limited-edition print of their choice by artists Neda Abghari, Bethany Marchman, or Fahamu Pecou, as well as admission to the main part of the evening. For all others, a mere $10 contribution grants entrance to the main fundraising event. With music provided by Mike Zarin, Salah Ananse, Social Studies, and Vicki Powell, guests can enjoy a big night out for a good cause that so ardently needs support.

“JUNG at HeART” will take place on Feb. 4, 2011 from 9:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. at the King Plow Event Gallery located at 887 West Marietta St., Atlanta, GA 30318. Ticket prices are $10 or $50 for VIP. To RSVP visit www.thecreativesproject.org/rsvp.
