Nurai Private Island: A World Renowned Luxurious Retreat

News | February 15, 2011

Derived from the Arabic word “nour” meaning “light”, Abu Dhabi’s Nurai Island is one of the city’s most luxurious developments. An inaugural project launched in May 2008 from Zaya, a UAE-based boutique developer specializing in exclusive luxury real estate, Nurai is due for completion in December 2011 and has been voted by Newsweek Magazine as “the most luxurious project in the world.”

Future residents of the serenely beautiful island located just minutes away from urban hubs such as Saadiyat and Yas Islands will enjoy an exclusive private luxury island resort community of limited edition 28 Beachfront Estates, 12 Water Villas, and one boutique luxury retreat. Nurai is being developed in partnership with world-renowned architects and designers such as AW2.

Water is Nurai’s recurring motif. Wherever you go you will be surrounded by the clear blue waters of the Arabian Gulf. The water villas extend into the ocean while the Beachfront Estates are located close to the water’s edge with a greenery elegantly unfolding across the roof of each Estate thus providing the illusion of an untouched island combined with contemporary design.

Enveloped within the undulating carpet of greenery are private residences of the utmost in luxury living. Livable spaces in the beachfront estates range from 17,707 sqft to 18,730 sqft, outdoor plots sizes of 21,000 – 119,000 sqft, and expansive outdoor and indoor spaces including infinity pools, outdoor barbecue areas, private beach and garden, entertainment patios, chef and show kitchens and concealed service quarters. All the properties feature 3meter-high ceilings and double atriums of 7meters.

In addition, residents have access to the services and amenities provided by the island’s luxury boutique retreat which include a floating marina with arrivals lounge for residents and guests, service access from the hotel, a private helipad, a celebrated luxury spa, a world class fitness center, and a multitude of world-class restaurants and lounges including the region’s first ever Cafe Del Mar and a Sir Alan Yau (Michelin Star Chef) inspired restaurant exclusively for residents of the island and guests.

Nurai is a world gem for first-class luxury. It is a unique and special development enveloped in beautiful design and natural surroundings coupled with top-notch service. Nurai, is a superb destination unto itself.
