Haute Gadget: Incentient Puts Wine and Room Service at Your Fingertips
Two things that I would not mind having right at my fingertips at all times is a nice bottle of Bordeaux and room service. Thanks to Incentient, an innovative services firm in New York, your next hotel and restaurant experience maybe one step closer to wining, dining, and travelling like the Jetsons.
They recently introduced SmartCellarsm and SmartTouchsm two glass touch-screen panels that will transport you into the futuristic era on the express lane.
SmartTouchsm is the epitome of luxury meets technology. Imagine your morning coffee, fresh towels, an exciting afternoon excursion, and tonight’s restaurant reservation…all at the touch of a button. Forget Room Service calls or trips to the Concierge Desk, this easy-to-use glass touch-screen panel allows guests to control their hospitality experience from within the privacy of their guestrooms. It empowers guests with the technology to have more information, privacy, and control; simultaneously, management has access to more data, achieves better communication with customers, and delivers an improved guest experience. Currently, the SmartTouchsm system can be found at Auberge Resorts, Wigwam Resort (Litchfield Park, AZ) and Hotel Nikko (San Francisco, CA).
How It Works: The SmartTouchsm system creates an efficient means of communication between hotels/resorts and guests through a fully customizable software that is paired with easy-to-understand touch-screen panels. All pertinent services–including Room Service, Concierge, Valet, Spa Services Housekeeping and Bellman–are available to for each guest to browse, consider and order. For guests, what results is an improved hospitality experience where they enjoy privacy, control, and convenience.
With total control over their hospitality experience, guests have a range of personalized service options that were once not possible—from ordering in-room breakfast the night before with guaranteed accuracy and an exact time for desired delivery, to the freedom of scheduling restaurant or nightlife reservations without the dreaded risk of being put on hold by the Concierge, the SmartTouchsm system ensures the ultimate luxury experience.
The SmartCellarsm will impress everyone from the seasoned connoisseurs to less-in-the-know patrons in search of a fine wine to pair with their dish. It’s goal is to make your wine selection process at a restaurant less lengthy by eliminating the leather-bound traditional wine list which has proved to be a daunting task for restaurant patrons and owners alike. SmartCellarsm has already attracted the likes of such celebrity chefs and restaurateurs as Todd English (Olives in New York City), Wolfgang Puck (Cut in Las Vegas, NV), Gordon Ramsey (Claridge’s in London), Joel Robuchon (Four Seasons in New York City), Chef Jose Andres (Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, NV), just to name a few. Tony May’s SD26 in New York City was the first to employ the exciting software.
How it works: Patrons can browse, via the device’s easy-to-understand touch-pad links, for wines by name, region, varietal and price; guests can even view an up-close image of the wine bottle’s label. The sommelier can use SmartCellarsm as a tool to educate guest, or guests can order directly from the lightweight handheld device. In tandem with the restaurant’s desires, guests may also have the option to order food via SmartCellarsm, view promotions and/or consider suggested wine pairings according to the dishes ordered.
