Haute Ambassador: Dori’s World
On January 24, I went to a special luncheon at the MET to commemorate the Grand Divertissement à Versailles. The keynote speakers were Oscar de la Renta and Stephen Burrows; Donna Karan also spoke. Guests included Jason Wu, Lizzie Tisch, Bronson Van Wyck, Hamish Bowles, Kelly Bensimon, Michael Bolton, Robert Verdi, Nina Cooper, Star Jones, Fabiola Beracasa, Eliza Reed Bolen, Somers Farkas, Alina Cho, Veronica Webb, Jane Holzer, Iman, Lisa Blau, Amy Fine Collins, Vanessa Lawrence, and Matt Lynch.
On the 28th, Lesley and David Schulhof had David’s “Roaring 20’s” themed 40th birthday party at The Glass House. Everyone was dressed up in all different costumes–headbands with feathers, pearls, gangster suits, and flapper dresses. When we arrived we were handed a DS flask. Jen Raines, Gilane Maxwell, Dennis Basso, Devon and Phil Radziwill, Edmond and Marielle Safra, Daniella Rich, Cristina Greeven Cuomo, Fabiola Beracasa, Shoshanna Lonstein, Dani Stahl, Charlotte Ronson, Rob Speyer, Harry Lefrak, David Wassong, Danielle Levine, Marcy Warren, Inga Rubenstein, Annelise Peterson, Zani and Marjorie Gubelmann, Serena Boardman Rosen, Denise Kaufman, Edouard Gerschel, Elana Posner, and Debra and Harlan Peltz were just a few of the 200 guests at the roaring party.

On February 1, a bunch of us had a dinner for Alexandra Von Furstenberg who was in town for the New York International Gift Fair. We ate at The Mark Restaurant with Stefani Greenfield, Cristina Greeven Cuomo, Rachel Peters Thomas, Samantha Boardman Rosen, Fernanda Niven, Beth Blake, and Liz Cohen Hausman. It was so good to catch up with everyone. Beth just had a baby girl; Stefani launches her new accessories line in a few weeks with her partner Desiree Gruber called Theodora & Callum; Alexandra’s line has been a huge success at the Javits Center; Rachel, who treated everyone to dinner, has been super busy with her two kids; and Cristina, Fernanda, Liz, and Samantha have many new projects coming up.
On February 3, Jenna Leigh had her lingerie trunk show in New York at 25 Park. Then Lizzie Tisch and I were off to the Dolce & Gabbana “Girls Girls Girls” event on Madison Avenue that Nora Flaherty put together. There were Tarot card readers and roller skaters in the store. Cool event! Next, Denise Kaufman and I attended her brother Pablo Kaufman’s birthday party at Amaranth. Claudia and Billy Walters, Stanley and Mesi Shashoua, Filipa Fino and her husband Stratis Morfogen, and Aram Sabet were all there celebrating.
On February 4, I went to Steve Clark’s art show, which was a huge success. His paintings are beautiful and it was such a fun crowd with Lisa Cant, Liz Cohen, Ari Horowitz, and other hip young models and artists. Then it was off to Devon and Phil Radziwill’s house for Phil’s 30th birthday party, which was a ton of fun. There was even a dancer popping out of a huge pink cake. Guests like Phil’s brother John Michael, who flew in to be there, Lauren and Andres Santo Domingo, Tico Mugrabi, Stavros Niarchos, Valerie Boster, Lesley Schulhof, Christina Floyd, Topper Mortimer, Al Acquavella, Fabiola Beracasa, Jason Beckman, Brett Heyman, Peter Davis, Derek Blasberg, Lyle Maltz and Sylvana Soto were all there to celebrate.
Then the next night, Daniella Rich threw a birthday party for her husband Richard Kilstock. It was a dinner party for 100 people at the home of Denise Rich. Chef Michelle prepared quite a spread and guests included Jason Pomeranc, Nina Davidson, Lizzie Grubman, Marielle and Edmond Safra, David Schulhof, Rob Vecsler, Jon Mason, Jen Raines, Roald and Nazanin Smeets, David Aaron, Jamie Diner, and Inga Rubenstein.
Then it was off to Don Hill’s. Richard and Daniella took over the space for Richard’s band, The Born Again Baldwins, to perform. David Aaron, Charlie Walk, and Doug Wurtz are in the band. Emily Smith, Santiago Gonzalez, Alex Shaftel, Sarah Zambelli, and Shara Howard were all there to celebrate.
