This Weekend in Miami: The Miami International Art Fair

The second annual Miami International Art Fair officially opened to the public today, with a special preview Thursday evening. The art fair encompasses photography, sculptures, installation art, and new media from all around the world.  Many of the local art galleries have teamed up with Miami’s museums to participate in the fair, like the Miami Art Museum, the Lowe Art Museum and the Bass Museum, to make this year’s event something to remember.

The Festival not only will be featuring work from both local and international artists, but also the works by local students from University of Miami, Florida International University and Miami-Dade College , who will be getting a chance to showcase their work.

The show has been implemented by the International Fine Arts Exhibitions who also founded Art Miami in 1991. The Miami International Art Fair  being sponsored by the luxury cruise line, Regent Seven Seas, who is donating a cruise-for-two in a special lottery during the show. The winner will be selected at random on the night of January 17.
