New York Car Lovers Expected to Flock to Luxury Car Show
Car aficionados, including many from New York City, are sure to be heading to the recently announced mega-luxury car show in July. Organizers are hoping to attract collectors like Jerry Seinfeld and Ralph Lauren to the inaugural Mogulaire Concours d’Elegance at the Wente Vineyards on July 23.
Lauren, a noted car collector, keeps his collection of around 70 of the rarest, most valuable cars in the world at his estate in upstate New York. His collection includes 1938 Bugatti coupe, a 1938 Alfa Romeo Mille Miglia roadster, an ultra-rare F1 LM, a Mercedes 300SL Gullwing, a 1929 Blower Bentley and the world’s only 1930 Mercedes-Benz SSK “Count Trossi” roadster. His cars have shown and won at several major Concours d’Elegance events.
Seinfeld is also a known collector and enthusiast. His collection is stored in a private parking garage in Manhattan and rumored to be worth upwards of $20 million. He’s an avid Porsche collector and is said to own 46 of them.
Officials say the Mogulaire Concours will be a mixture of automobiles from the last 60 years, present and future. The event promises to be a celebration of not only automobiles, but luxury lifestyle, from art to jewelry to fine dining. They say, “This multi-day event hosts some of the best manufactures and tuners from the automotive and aviation fields. The Concours will present a gathering of clothing and jewelry designers, artists, wine and spirit makers, and many more exhibitors. When walking the lawn of this magnificent golf course you will find yourself surrounded by one of Wente’s breathtaking vineyards.” Expected representation includes: Aston Martin, Bentley, BMW, Cadillac, Corvette, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Rolls Royce, Shelby and Tesla. It’s sure to fuel any car aficionado’s passion.
