Jumeirah Carlton Tower Celebrates its 50th Birthday

London’s Jumeirah Carlton Tower celebrated its 50th birthday this past week. Part of the Dubai-based Jumeirah Group, the Carlton Tower is located in the prestigious London neighborhood of Knightsbridge. The celebration was complete with a cake designed by renowned Pâtissier Eric Lanlard.

Other highlights to the event included “Flash Sale” which took place yesterday at midday for the duration of 50 minutes with 50 rooms available for £50.  One lucky winner gets to experience an overnight stay in the hotel’s recently opened luxurious Royal Suite for just £2011 which is a small fraction of its usual £7,000 price tag. There was also a specially created Gold cocktail ‘1961’ served in Gilt, Chinoiserie and Rib Room and the publication of a book celebration 50 years of the Carlton Hotel written by Aslet.

As the Jumeirah Group continues to grow and expand in 2012, it is worth remembering the hotel’s great heritage.
