We recently told you about the upcoming 20th Annual Wine Expo, so we feel compelled to also fill you in on the upcoming Beer Summit for those of you fond of the bubbly brew. The Winter Jubilee takes place this Friday evening, January 14 and Saturday day and evening January 15 at the Park Plaza Castle. And doesn’t it seem fitting to be sipping on some of the best brews around from inside a castle?
More than 63 select brewers will be sampling their over 200 brewed creations alongside educational seminars to help you understand and develop a deeper appreciation and taste for the well crafted beverage. And what are some of the craft beer makers you can expect to sample along the exhibit floor? Because that is really what it is all about, right? The selection is eclectic from Clown Shoes Beer locally brewed in Massachusetts and Wormtown Brewery from Worcester, MA to Peak Organic and High & Mighty. Alongside the many craft beers, you’ll also find Sam Adams, Narragansett and Harpoon breweries. Here’s hoping Sam Adams brings along some of their Infinium, their new champagne-like beer, fo sampling purposes as well. Word is Shipyard will be debuting their latest beer, Double Thumper, at the summit.
Other non-beer options to partake in include Woodchuck Cider from Vermont; mead, also known as honey wine, from B. Nektar Meadery, Michigan; and Gerbs Pumpkin Seeds.
Tickets to each session include an informational seminar, 10 beer samplings and entertainment. Should 10 sampling not be enough to satisfy your beer craving (and your tolerance for sampling allows for more than 10 samples) more will be available at no additional fee. Chopville, a musical duo from Newport, RI will be playing live on Saturday during the day. The Low Sparks band will provide entertainment Saturday night.
The summit takes place over three sessions: Friday evening 530P-9P, Saturday day 12:30-4P, and Saturday evening 530P-9P. Advance tickets are $40 per session here. Tickets will also be available at the door for $45 per session (cash only). For true beer aficionados, pick up the season pass ($135) for admission to the Winter Jubilee, the Boston Beer Summit in April, VIP admission to the Sam Adams Octoberfest as well as Harvestfest in November.
